So here we are once again. It has been a very busy summer but also a very interesting one in terms of meeting new people, making new friends and learning things they don’t teach at university.
On the mean time uni has started again and judging by how my to do list long term and short term is looking like it is not going to be a boring year either.
Let me finally add I have found some old negatives from November (I think) which I am going to be showing first just to get them out of the way. With nothing else to say you’ll find this spots has got 217 photographs so if you need to go to the toilet do it now.
A portrait I was quite impressed to see actually. That’s the magic of film, you never know what you are going to get.
Heather on the old flat warming up with an electric heater. The cold got through the windows and doors.
Someone decided to help the environment by squeezing that one in.
Héctor came for a visit. I’ve got a better one of him later on the blog.
I have to say I did not recognize these images as mine when I first saw them.
Last one on that roll. Let’s fast forward to mid June 2011 now.
Back from Brazil the cat was quite happy to see us. Don’t look any further, it’s a cat. Quite expressless.
Sergi came for a visit aswell which was much appreciated.
No one can be a poser for long enough, though.
Listening to Heather’s past sotries. By the way, Stella is known as the “wife beater” beer so be careful who you are drinking one of those with…
How fortunate am I! I live in a city where big questions are answered…not!
Heather and her “I worked night shift” face. Part one.
A rare sunny Sunday was spent at the park.
I have been taking the bus quite a lot to go to work this summer. It’s actually a great place for some shots.
A model citizen throwing a runned over pigeon on the bin.
The house becomes some kind of nursery sometimes… I don’t mind it.
“I worked night shift” face, part two.
Another visit! Emilio, an old sixform colleague drove all the way from Spain to Liverpool making a stop over for a night’s rest.
I believe lens distortion has little to do with his hair.
For a comission with Juliet at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
Back at the office. Nicola or what you can see of her.
Luca Farinelli (responsable for the last blog’s entry) the first day we actually met in person after the Vivian Maier exhibit.
Althoug it seems we enjoied a summer full of sunshine it was not like that at all.
In Oxford circus to buy some shoes. Wearing leather jackets and spikes doesn’t make you wild…
She was deffinetly a woman but surely she did not see me or knew I was looking…
The previous night she had it off but still needed a coffe.
Self portrait to pass the time on a train to Alton Towers.
I never understood this passion for golf. I guess it is a matter of taste.
Just an obsrvation on “que-art”. This little messages deffinetly keep you entertained.
Alton Towers has better rides than the ones I’ve been before. If you don’t believe me just check the face of the guy on the first row and you’ll be able to imagine what was mine like.
Back in London and it’s wild life and weird hats.
Next day in Oxford Street during a walk before another comission.
Having his mind somewhere else.
Shooting from the hip and from the bus.
Don’t look for a subliminal message or anything. It’s a guy walking on a sunny day. And that’s special for London!
On the way to meet Luca in Brixton. Their conversation had something to do with Pokemon and the Nintendo DS.
Glad to see people still read the news and not those useless twits in a tablet. I was loosing hope.
A quick stop at Starbucks and I was sorted caffeine-wise!
It turned out that the exibition at Photofusion displaied the same Vivian Mayer’s images I had already seen. Still it’s never bad to see them again.
Two ciders later shooting at strangers wasn’t such a problem. On top of that everyone was nicer and din’t seem to mind my camera.
A few days later having junk for lunch.
The shoebox size room was finally ready for our new flat mate to come. The new mattress needed some testing first though.
Lola lived with us for a few days only until she could find something more suitable for her needs.
Her arrival coincided with those London lootings. Luca and I went to Oxford Circus, where it seemed something was going to happen, instead we met Rony. Luca making us all jelous with his Leica.
So, the whole thing ended up in a chinese restaurant in Soho eating prawn crakers. It was that quite.
Next day, still looking for something to happen. Nothing did.
Skater girls. Feeling like a pervert after that shot!
I thinking after this summer I won’t be able to get into a Subway ever again after having it alomost every day.
Stocking up on caffeine after realizing I forgot my keys at work and had to go all the way to Victoria to ask Karim for them.
Shot from the bus. I first thought he saw me but did not react to my “you caught me” smile.
Charline took that one. The chicken looks delicious, doesn’t it?
A test shot in one of the comissions got used against me at work.
That night Luca gave me a hand by scanning the negatives from Brazil.
But it took longer than we first thought.
Random shot. The only excuse I have is that it was sunny.
Went up north to Harrogate for a wedding. Heather checking everything was in order.
I first was not going to post this but I think it is quite a nice picture. Taken from the hotel window.
They covered as soon as I lifted my camera. I tried to explin what I was doing but I don’t think they understood me very well.
The next day, after 3 hours traveling back to London
straight to Notting Hill’s carnival. Unfortunately it was the end of it and people were heading home.
Some were clearly having a go at it.
A few days later waiting to get the digitalized frames from Brazil from the hand of Luca.
I actually like that portrait.
Bunny ears for a phone? How silly is that.
I felt like photographing people with their phones, apparently.
Not looking forward for the night-shift.
Next day Jason, also known as “The Man” setting a” Veggie Percy trap”. He will hang himself from that string.
More Lord’s Cricket Ground Comissioned work. Of course these are the unofficial pictures.
And I did. I also have the spanish version of “just do it” further down.
Shopping can be so exhausting sometimes!
Heather seriously thinking about swimming across the english channel. Quiting smoking is a must then!
Eric, our new french flat mate.
He’s actually got an album and everything.
Eric played some of his songs for us. Maybe as a good bye before we caught a plane that same night to fly to Spain.
We mainly visited friends so almost no street pctures here. I felt completly unispired for some reason. Emma and Angel have started living together on an awesome big flat in Tarragona. The crisis has not harmed the ones who want to do something with their future in Spain actually.
Days later. In a chinese restaurant with Nacho, one of my parent’s friends,
Héctor. We actually spent all the time going from restaurant to restaurant and from terrace to terrace. It was a bit of a fat holiday to be honest.
I also met with one of my old maths teachers at school. He now is in the photography bussiness.
The spanish stereotyped “just do it”.
I think he actually finished that whole plate of lasagna by himself like it was nothing!
Checking F.C Barcelona’s results on that day’s match.
My dad’s favourite activity this summer appart from sun bathing. Good for him!
At Jaime and Vanessa’s flat. Matus after an all you can eat sushi.
Not really willing to be photographed.
Warming up before Vanessa’s and Jaime’s birthday party. Coxis on the image.
Next day at Reus Airport to get back into routine in London.
THE END FOR NOW. THANKS FOR WATCHING
